Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:39AM

Future Consumer Ltd.(up 6.25%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 5.62%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(up 5.61%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.72%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 2.37%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 2.31%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 1.79%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(up 1.79%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 1.76%) and Emami Ltd.(up 1.64%) were among the top gainers.

Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(down 2.54%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 2.49%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.56%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 1.00%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 0.92%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 0.80%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd.(down 0.62%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 0.61%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(down 0.57%) and LT Foods Ltd.(down 0.43%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 49.5 points down at 22412.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 177.42 points at 73837.13 at around 10:39AM.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.37%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.28%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.23%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.46%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.97%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.9%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.56%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.49%), UPL Ltd.(up 0.46%) and Titan Company Ltd.(up 0.44%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 2.56%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.45%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.34%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.24%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.15%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.07%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.04%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.88%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.85%) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.85%) were trading in the red.
