During the 2024 Easter season, destinations across Europe are experiencing heightened popularity among TUI Group’s clientele, as reflected in the latest booking trends. Travel preferences of vacationers from various European nations are showcasing a diverse range of sought-after locales.

The Canary Islands, including Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Lanzarote, stand out as favorite destinations, continuing their winter popularity into the Easter period. The allure of these islands is particularly strong among travelers from Nordic countries. The early Easter schedule contributes to the continued preference for traditionally favored winter spots. Beyond the Canary Islands, Egypt, with Hurghada being the prime spot, draws considerable attention from TUI’s German, Austrian, and Belgian patrons, positioning it as a top choice for their Easter vacations.

Turkey and the Balearic Islands are also making it to the top five destinations for travelers from Central Europe and the UK, with the Cape Verde Islands appealing notably to Swedes and British tourists.

The trend extends beyond European shores, with long-haul destinations and major cities gaining traction this Easter. South East Asian destinations like Thailand and Bali are the go-to for German and Nordic vacationers, while Austrians are showing a newfound preference for the Maldives. City breaks in London and New York are especially popular among Austrian tourists. French travelers, too, are broadening their horizons with increased bookings to long-haul destinations such as the Dominican Republic, the USA, Cuba, and Vietnam.

This Easter sees a surge in holiday bookings across some markets, with notable increases like TUI Norway’s bookings doubling, and TUI UK nearing full occupancy for 7-day all-inclusive holidays. Germany alone is seeing over half a million travelers choosing TUI for their Easter journey.

TUI Musement, the group’s division for tours, experiences, and activities, reports a preference among beachgoers for boat tours, 4×4 adventures, and historical excursions. Highlights include guided visits to Chichen Itza in Mexico, catamaran sailing in the Dominican Republic, and 4×4 tours in the Cape Verde Islands. City tourists are flocking to iconic sites like Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the London Eye, with New York’s Edge and Summit One Vanderbilt among the top attractions.
