The AIFF Emergency Committee convened on April 1st , to address the IWL 2 incident and complaints against Deepak Sharma. Following discussions, an emergency Executive Committee meeting was scheduled for April 2.

During this meeting, it was decided to dissolve the Ad Hoc Committee and refer the matter to the AIFF Disciplinary Committee. Mr. Sharma was suspended from football-related activities until further notice. AIFF President Mr. Kalyan Chaubey emphasized the organization’s commitment to women’s football safety and development, highlighting the referral of the incident for disciplinary action.

The AIFF ensured the complainants’ safe passage home and pledged continued support.

Notably, the IWL’s expansion was praised, with plans for promotion and relegation. India’s success in the Turkish Women’s Cup, notably Manisha Kalyan’s recognition, was highlighted.

Chaubey also mentioned the growth of women’s football participation nationwide, with initiatives like the ‘Khelo India’ Girls’ League and increased player registrations.
