Our weather pattern continues to be clogged by a slow-moving area of low pressure that could linger even into the weekend. Today and tomorrow bring our highest rain chances, but some showers are still possible Thursday. A shower or two could even linger into the weekend. We will have a hard time shaking the clouds the next several days as we stay cool and become breezy at times as well.
Today (Tuesday): Patchy fog this morning and cloudy skies throughout the day. Scattered showers are likely this morning with a thunderstorm possible. We could see fewer showers during the afternoon, but a shower or storm is still possible at just about any time. Most of us only reach highs in the 50s because of a cool breeze from the east-southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Areas to the south and southwest of D.C., especially toward Fredericksburg and Culpeper, could get to near 60 or the low 60s and may see a stronger thunderstorm. Confidence: Low-Medium
Tonight: Scattered showers and a thunderstorm are possible during the evening, with some heavier showers and storms becoming likely late evening and overnight.
