Puma and NBA 2K are teaming up for a two pack of sneakers taking inspiration from the franchise’s shot meter.
Both the Suede and Scoot Zeros appear in black and white color schemes with green detailing pulled from a perfectly timed release in the basketball video game. The design flourish makes its appearance on the Scoot Zeros, Scoot Henderson’s signature sneaker, through a yellow-to-green gradient on the midsole. Meanwhile, the classic Suede adds white for a three-color gradient on its Formstrip.
2K branding comes to the Suede via a retooled logo box on the tongue, and the heel’s inset Puma logo matches in the same shade of red. Inside, you’ll also find a dual-branded insole. The Scoot Zeros opts for mismatched branding on the tongue, as an oversized 2K mark takes over the right shoe.
The Scoot Zeros has quickly become an avenue for spirited collaborations since its launch last year made Henderson the first NBA player to get his own shoe as a rookie since LeBron James. A Flamin’ Hot Cheetos collaboration that released during NBA All-Star Weekend brought its own dedicated fan base, and 2K’s prolific player base should prove excited about a sneaker to call their own as well. The video game has a long history of sneaker integration that touches both the virtual and real-world experience.
The NBA 2K x Puma Scoot Zeros and Suede will both release April 4 through Puma’s website. Pricing is set at $110 for the former and $85 for the latter.
