Everything leaving Hulu in April 2024

The three main characters from the original Ghostbusters film in full outfits.
Columbia Pictures

Hulu subscribers should be glad to hear that there aren’t that many movies leaving at the end of April. Content churn is a way of life in the streaming age, but any month where the new arrivals outweigh the departures has to be considered a win.

Of course, the downside of that arrangement is that somebody’s favorites are inevitably going to be among the films that are going out the door. For example, Hulu will soon have to say goodbye to Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Pacific Rim, Blade Runner 2049, Stand By Me, and more. There are only 30 days in April, but you still have the full calendar to find the time to watch these flicks. In the meantime, check out the full list of everything leaving Hulu in April 2024. Our favorite picks for the month are in bold.

This is also a great time to consider the Disney Bundle, which gets you Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ for just $14 per month. That’s basically like getting all three services, but only paying for two of them, and it’s pretty tough to beat. It’s also a great way to make sure you don’t miss anything on any of these services.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Ghostbusters
71 %
7.8/10
pg 107m
Genre Comedy, Fantasy
Stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver
Directed by Ivan Reitman

Since Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is in theaters, there’s no better time than the present to revisit the film that started it all 40 years ago. There may be some nostalgia in this assessment, but few films have mixed horror and comedy as well as the original Ghostbusters. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson were at the top of their game, and the movie is filled with hilarious quotes and one-liners.

That would have been enough for a hit film by itself, but Ghostbusters takes things further by throwing the four members of the team into a supernatural tempest that could mean the end of the world. It all centers around a woman named Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) and a geeky guy named Louis Tully (Rick Moranis). If the Ghostbusters can’t figure out what’s haunting these two, then New York is doomed, and everything else will be dragged down with it.
