Authorities recover body of missing person at Falls Lake

The body of a person who went missing on Monday at Falls Lake has been recovered.

According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a possible drowning around 6:30 p.m. near the Holly Point boat ramp at Falls Lake.

Authorities located the body after a joint search of the lake by the sheriff's department and the Northern Wake Fire Department.

The identity of the body is not being released at this time, according to the sheriff's office
