Near-record warmth again on Tuesday before storms move in overnight
It's going to another warm and windy day on Tuesday.
Overnight Monday and into Tuesday morning will be warm, with lows in the mid-to-upper 60s.
Highs will reach the low-to-mid 80s. While it will be unseasonably warm, its unlikely to break records on Tuesday.

"The record high at RDU today is 90 degrees set back in 1967 and 90 degrees for Fayetteville set back in 1999," WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said. "I doubt we will have record warmth considering there will be quite a bit of cloud cover throughout the day."
It's likely to be dry for the Durham Bulls home opener tomorrow, but be ready for rain later on.

Storms brewing
Rain showers become more likely by Tuesday night, increasing to a 70% chance of scattered showers and storms on Wednesday.
"Rain will be possible after midnight and toward daybreak Wednesday morning with the next cold front," Maze said.

According to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner, scattered showers could move into the area Wednesday around 8 a.m. followed by scattered thunderstorms. There is a Level 1 risk from the Triangle eastward.
According to Maze, much of the rain should be out of the area after the morning.
"Right now, it appears our shower and storm chances would be primarily confined to the first part of the day Wednesday, and then
Warm streak won't last all week
This midweek front will also usher in cooler temperatures. After basking in the 80s for the next couple of days, Wednesday will see a high of 70.
"Wednesday is our transition day," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
Thursday will be a significant cool-down with a high of just 60 degrees. Bundle up – Thursday night will dip down to a chilly 39 degrees.
Thankfully, the cold snap won't last. Friday morning will start cold, but highs will reenter the upper 50s and low 60s for the afternoon. The weekend looks pleasant with highs remaining in the 60s for both Friday and Saturday, which should make for a comfortable time at the Dreamville Music Festival.

With all this warm weather, the flowers and trees are blooming – meaning pollen counts are high. If you're sneezing, that could be why!
