Approximately 40,000 people and brightly colored eggs filled the grounds of the White House in the morning, continuing a tradition that started in 1878. Unlike last year’s sunny and clear weather, the rain was sporadic and temperatures chilly. The event was delayed because of the wet weather but children and parents began to arrive around 8 a.m.
