Fine Gael leader Simon Harris has already been crowned the “TikTok Taoiseach” for his success on a social media platform that few of his political colleagues have managed to crack.

With a “no bull, no spin” approach to the platform he believed other politicians “like to sneer at”, Harris carved out a corner of the internet that saw him – whether by accident or design – get in on the joke.
