Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Monday's session.

Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 20.01%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 19.95%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 9.88%), Future Consumer Ltd.(up 6.67%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 6.59%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(up 6.29%), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(up 5.85%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 4.99%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.96%) and Dodla Dairy Ltd.(up 3.99%) stood among the top gainers.

Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(down 1.97%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.88%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.41%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.85%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 0.39%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.33%), Marico Ltd.(down 0.29%) and Varun Beverages Ltd.(down 0.11%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 135.1 points up at 22462.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 363.2 points at 74014.55.

JSW Steel Ltd.(up 5.03%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 4.69%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.56%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.54%), UPL Ltd.(up 2.24%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 2.11%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.97%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.96%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.84%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.73%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.81%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.67%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.41%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.16%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.13%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.92%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.88%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.85%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.69%) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.69%) closed in the red.
