One person died Saturday night after a shooting in northeast Denver.
The shooting happened at 6:54 p.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of Gilpin Street in Denver’s Whittier neighborhood. Police officers went to the area after receiving an alert from a gunshot detection device in the neighborhood, said Technician Katherine McCandless, a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.
Officers found one man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital where he died, the police department reported. The Denver Medical Examiner’s office release the dead person’s identity, pending notification of family.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday morning, McCandless said.
The shooting did not happen at nearby Fuller Dog Park, McCandless said. No further details on where the shooting happen were available, she said.
