SOUTHBURY – Lorraine M. (Mailhot) Cable, 89, passed away on March 22, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Care Unit with family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Lester M. Cable.

Lorraine was born in Waterbury to the late Welly and Flore (Lafreniere) Mailhot. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury. Lorraine worked for the Town of Southbury, including the first selectman’s office, Building Department, town clerk’s office, and was an emergency dispatcher for the Southbury fire, police, and ambulance calls.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury since it was built in the 1950s.

Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Cathy Cable of Wayne, Maine, and M. Sandy Votto of Southbury; her son, Richard Cable of Cheshire; as well as her granddaughters, Kristen and Kaleigh Votto. She leaves behind two sisters, Maryann (John) Zigato, and Linda (Leo) Mangini; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Andrew, Paul, Reale, and Richard; as well as her sisters, Teresa Decareful, Irene Lampron, and Janice McKeown.

A Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
