It won’t be long before anglers from across the Roaring Fork Valley converge on the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen for the long-anticipated 2024 Fly Fishing Film Tour!

Featuring over fifteen fly-fishing “shorts,” you’ll get a peek into the lives of anglers as they pursue fish across the globe with a fly rod in hand and a film crew in tow.

This year’s films include “A Line in the Sand,” exploring the pristine ecosystem of Andros, which boasts the largest freshwater source in the Bahamas with a massive mangrove shoreline and barrier reef. Also featured is “Cayo Santa Gaspe,” a comedic look into a purist salmon fishing guide who wakes up on an island in the middle of nowhere after a drunken evening. The event turns his life, career, and passion for salmon fishing upside down.

“What Lies Above” explores the unique changes in feeding behavior of permit along the Yucatan Peninsula. Many local anglers fish in Mexico and have experienced the increase of floating seaweed known as Sargassum and the problems it brings. “Rods, Rolls, and Reality on the Soca” follows the misadventures of a group of Slovenian kayakers who swap their paddles for fly rods.

With the multitude of different shorts, there will be a film that touches close to home for many, inspire the itch to travel, or make a difference in someone’s life through fly fishing. Brought to you locally by FirstBank, Slifer Smith &Frampton, the Roaring Fork Fishing Guide Alliance (RFFGA), Stranahan’s, Costa, Skwala. and the Taylor Creek Fly Shop, the F3T is your chance to catch up with all of your fishing friends and hopefully make some new ones! Also be sure to stop by the booths in the lobby and catch up with Casting for Recovery Western Slope, The Colorado Wildlife Council, and members of the RFFGA.

See you there!
