Brod: Bacon Day?

Really, SkiCo?
SkiCo is giving out “free” bacon for closing day at Buttermilk this year. The World Health Organization rates bacon as a class 1 carcinogen — so “free” cancer.
Awesome.
Great work.
It also happens to be deeply unethical how pigs are treated in industrial animal agriculture. They are highly-intelligent and emotive creatures, and their lives are pure hell. And now, it has become standard practice to use actual gas chambers as the means of slaughtering them. See the documentary “Pignorant.”
Additionally, we know animal agriculture is among the most destructive industries in the world, comprising 3/5 of all arable land and causing the first mass extinction since the dinosaurs. Eating plants could potentially reduce our farm land by 75%, re-wilding and reforesting huge swaths of land, giving wild species a fighting chance at survival.
Butter and milk are produced by artificially and forcibly inseminating animals, and stealing babies from their mothers over and over again, so you can steal the milk, and subsequently suffer from cardiovascular disease, stroke, or type 2 diabetes (Nutritionfacts.org/Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine/China Study, etc., etc.).
Almonds are actually good for you and still use far less water than beef and milk to produce. Let’s wake up, and move past our cognitive dissonance, and consider changing the ski area’s name to Almond-Milk.
