GITM 2024 to focus on new roadmap for Goa

The fourth edition of the Goa International Travel Mart (GITM-2024) will feature more than 250 national and international buyers, spanning across more than 15 sectors within the tourism industry including premium sellers from Goa. ‘Goa: The First State to Focus on Regenerative Tourism Leading to a New Road Map of Goa Beyond Sun, Sand, and Sea’, a panel discussion, will be the highlight of GITM 2024 offering invaluable insights into the future of tourism in the region.

GITM-2024 will be held from April 2 from April 4 at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Taleigao. Being hosted for the first time after the pandemic, it will also be held virtually from April 3 to April 9, bringing together industry leaders, stakeholders and enthusiasts from around the globe for an immersive experience in tourism, said the tourism department.

Tourism director Suneel Anchipaka said, “Recognizing Goa’s immense potential as a premier tourist destination, both domestically and internationally, we are committed to adopting a strategic approach that encompasses multifaceted development initiatives. With a robust presence of trade exhibitors, GITM 2024 will offer a plethora of opportunities for fruitful engagements and partnerships. Complementing the trade exhibitions are knowledge-sharing sessions organised by industry stalwarts, providing invaluable insights and expertise to attendees.”

“With a focus on regenerative, spiritual, and hinterland tourism, the event aims to redefine Goa’s tourism landscape and set new standards for sustainability and inclusivity,” he said.

GITM 2024 will provide an opportunity to connect with a diverse array of industry professionals, including destination management companies, travel agents, tour operators, MICE specialists, and much more. It sets a stage to showcase products and services to a global audience, leveraging the platform to highlight unique offerings and establish meaningful connections, said the department.

“The virtual 3D immersive platform will be extensively promoted worldwide and will introduce several innovative features to maximise engagement and interaction,” it said.
