Ragaller: Eagle County seeks applicants for reform project advisory committee

Help shape the future of Eagle County!
The county is seeking applicants for the Advisory Committee for the Eagle County Land Use Regulation Reform Project. Community members, agency partners, and stakeholders will provide perspective and advice on policy issues and technical aspects of the county’s proposed new land use regulations. They will meet 5 times from May through December for approximately 2 hours per meeting. The application period is open until April 4.
County commissioners will appoint the committee with a balanced representation of geographical locations, perspectives, as well as varied experience and expertise. The committee will meet to consider regulatory approaches, review proposed code modules, and recommend revisions throughout each phase of the process.
Eagle County’s Land Use Regulations contain subdivision and zoning regulations and site development standards which govern land use in unincorporated Eagle County, and which are designed to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the county’s residents. The regulations provide the authority and framework for Eagle County to hold future development to a high standard of quality and to regulate orderly land use in a manner that is sensitive to the environment and natural resources.
