Letter: Why the Gypsum Town Council didn’t recommend voting for RTA

For your information, at almost every meeting of the Regional Transit Authority Formation Committee before placing the issue on the ballot, the representatives from the town of Gypsum asked to have the lower valley west of Edwards included in the fare-free routes. At every meeting where this suggestion was made, it was deemed not possible.

For this reason, the Gypsum Town Council did not make a recommendation of approval or denial for the ballot issue. The council let the citizens decide. Had fare-free service been included for the lower valley, it is most likely the council would have recommended voting for this measure. So here we are.
