In a recent conversation with DNA, Yami shared her wishes for raising her child. "I believe that as a parent, you always want your child to grow up with the same traditions, rituals, and practices that you did," the woman remarked. The 'Article 370' actor continued, giving the example of her family's holi customs: "So, for holi, before playing, we offer the first colour to our deity and then offer prasad and then wish all the elders." When our child or anybody else from that generation grows up, I hope they are able to appreciate it with the same purity, energy, and soul that we were able to."
 
Yami's five-and-a-half-month pregnancy was confirmed by Aditya and her during the trailer release of Yami's film, "Article 370." Aditya declared, "This film is a family affair," at the function. There was a kid on the way, my brother, and my wife were present. The way the movie unfolded and we learned of the baby's existence was incredible.
