Another day in the 60s Tuesday before mid-week soaking
A fine Tuesday is on the way.
Tonight, however, things will be cold, with lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s across central North Carolina.
"I expect partly cloudy skies this evening and overnight with temperatures not quite as cold as what we awoke to this morning," WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.
Tuesday will begin sunny with clouds increasing through the afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid 60s.

'Significant rain' on the way
Rain chances begin to rise Tuesday evening, with a 20% chance for showers as a cold front moves into the area.
By Wednesday, however, our rain chances soar.

On Wednesday the front moves into central North Carolina, with showers and a possible thunderstorm along with a highs in the mid 50s-lower 60s.
"This front is likely to slow, or even stall, as it begins to run parallel to the upper level flow," Maze said. "Initially, the front won't be a big rain producer, but models indicate a wave of low pressure will develop along the front and move up from the south."

The low pressure system will enhance rain production along the front Wednesday night and into Thursday.
Futurecast projects some areas could see up to four inches of rain between Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday's rain should taper off by the afternoon. Highs will only be in the upper 50s due to the rain and persistent cloud cover.
Easter weekend looks gorgeous
The Easter weekend is looking glorious with sunshine and highs in the 70s! Both days are expected to stay dry for egg hunts and other outdoor festivities.
"It's possible, if Easter stays bright and dry, some places could hit 80 degrees," Maze said.
