
With the weather getting warmer and the days stretching longer, you’re probably looking forward to spending many of your April evenings outside. The good people at CALS Ron Robinson Theater, however, have other plans for you: another thoroughly eclectic month of film screenings.
Some of the picks are timely, like David Lynch’s original 1984 adaptation of “Dune,” which, despite negative reviews, will likely be an interesting watch next to the new two-part version starring Timothée Chalamet. Others are timeless, like “Citizen Kane,” which you might as well watch if you want to participate in the longstanding tradition of debating about whether or not it’s the best movie of all time.
Then there’s “Koyaanisqatsi,” a non-narrative documentary made up of time-lapsed, juxtapositional depictions of nature, technology and modern life that will almost certainly give you an existential crisis. You’ve gotta see it.
