Brrr! Freeze warning in effect for Triangle Monday morningš„¶
It's going to be a cold Monday morning, with temperatures in the 30s as you head out the door.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for several counties, which now includes Wake County. A frost advisory is also in effect for areas to the south and east. These will be in effect until 9 a.m. Monday. Temperatures could get as low as 30 degrees in the freeze warning areas.

By Monday afternoon, we'll see mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures in the 60s.

Potent mid-week storm possible
Our focus then shifts to a potent storm system by mid-week with a soaking looking more and more likely.
Scattered showers arrive by Wednesday with heavy rain likely continuing into Thursday.
"There is still a big spread among the forecast models regarding rainfall amounts, but they are a bit bullish with, on the low end," WRAL meteorologist Anthony Baglione said. "1.5" is possible, and some [models] show up to 5" for Wednesday and Thursday total. We'll have to see if they come into better agreement in the next several runs."

- Sunday: Happy Easter! Skies will be partly cloudy, with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.
Eyes on the sky for 2024 total solar eclipse
We're just a few weeks away from the next total solar eclipse for North America.
We won't see a total eclipse in North Carolina, but lots of people will travel to take it in! Ohio will be the closest spot to drive to from Raleigh for the path of totality.
