The Aspen School District and Aspen Family Connections is hosting a discussion for families with students with a disability about resources in the Roaring Fork Valley.
The event will be at The Arts Campus at Willits in Basalt from 5-7 p.m. on April 18. It is an opportunity to engage in a valley-wide community partnership for families with students with a disability.
Families with kids of all ages are encouraged to come. Representatives from Aspen Family Connections and the Aspen School District will attend to discuss and answer questions about services and supports for students with disabilities in the valley.
Partners of the discussion will include Arc of the Central Mountains, a nonprofit that advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Ascendigo, Challenge Aspen, Best Buddies, Cook Inclusive, Aspen School District PeAk Futures, and more.
Aspen Family Connections is based in Aspen but is a family resources center for families throughout Pitkin County. It was created to connect children, youth, and families with a wide range of community resources, such as economic assistance, academic and extra-curricular support, legal advice, and summer activities.
It works to support and advocate for all families at no charge.
