Rain warning issued for five counties as Met Éireann forecast potential flooding and difficult travel conditions

Met Éireann have issued a yellow rain warning for five counties to last until Midday on Monday as much of the country will see downpours in the coming 24 hours.
The rain warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Galway came into effect this morning and will expire at 12pm on Monday.
Met Éireann said: “Heavy rain at times today for all of Kerry and for western parts of Cork, Limerick, Clare and Galway.
"Potential Impacts: Localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions”.
Highest temperatures today will be between 7C and 11C. Overnight the rain will continue and showers will be heavy in places with the possibility of localised flooding in the aforementioned counties. Lowest temperatures will be between 4C and 8C.
There is also the chance of spot flooding tomorrow, when there will be persistent outbreaks of rain and temperatures of between 7C and 10C. There will also be rain on Monday night with temperatures of between 2C and 6C.
Tuesday will be another wet day with the outbreaks of rain spreading from the southeast. Temperatures will be between 6C and 9C and will fall to between 0 and 4C overnight.
It will be most cloudy on Wednesday with rain turning heavy at times. While daytime temperatures will be between 7C and 10C, it will be cold overnight with lowest temperatures of between -2C to 2C, when some frost and ice are expected to form.
Thursday will see a mix of sunshine and showers, though rain may turn heavy at time and highest temperatures of 8C and 11C.
The rain is also expected to continue into Easter weekend according to Met Éireann.
"Staying unsettled for the remainder of next week and into the Easter weekend with further showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times,” Met Éireann said.
