After steady showers overnight, much of the rain is beginning to shift east -- leaving most of the day dry, but cloudy and gray.

Here's the good news: It should be dry and mild for many Easter Egg hunts happening around the Triangle this weekend. With the wet weather in mind, however, it's a good idea to check with the event organizer about any possible delays or cancelations due to weather.

"The majority of the Saturday rain will be in the morning hours, but we still could see some off and on showers into the afternoon," said WRAL meteorologist Anthony Baglione. "There will be at least some drier time into the afternoon and evening."

Some areas could see up to three inches of rain this weekend, particularly on the coast. Hopefully, the rain will wash away some of the pollen that's been aggravating allergies for many people around central NC.

Eyes on the sky for 2024 total solar eclipse

We're just a few weeks away from the next total solar eclipse for North America.

We won't see a total eclipse in North Carolina, but lots of people will travel to take it in! Ohio will be the closest spot to drive to from Raleigh for the path of totality.
