The man whose life was saved when armed garda officers intercepted the car he was being held prisoner in on the M50 is refusing to co-operate with the investigation.

The 35-year-old, from Belfast, is facing serious charges in Northern Ireland in relation to organised crime offences after being charged with being involved in the supply of cocaine and amphetamines.
