Letter: Grateful for our community’s generosity

A 55-year-old who fell 30 feet from a ladder while working, breaking several bones and puncturing his lungs. A 33-year-old who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. A 16-year-old who required life-saving open heart surgery.

These are just a few examples of community members who were supported by two local nonprofit organizations during a medical crisis last year. Vail Health and Vail Valley Charitable Fund are working together to assist locals with living expenses during a medical crisis so that they can focus on what matters most — healing.

Vail Valley Charitable Fund is grateful for our continued partnership with Vail Health. Vail Health’s mission is to elevate health across our mountain communities, and they are doing so by supporting organizations like the Vail Valley Charitable Fund.

It is through support from donors and community partners, such as Vail Health, that the Vail Valley Charitable Fund was able to provide $310,239 of direct aid for 85 members of our valley in 2023. We are so thankful for our community’s generosity which has allowed us to provide valuable support during times of crisis for locals for more than 28 years.
