Panaji: Four Goan pugilists, Suman Patil, Mamta Raut, Veer Rana, and Laxmi Lamani have secured places in the quarter finals at the ongoing 3rd Sub Junior National Boxing Championships in Noida, UP, on Friday.

Suman Patil wasted no time, dismantling Sejal HP in the first round, prompting the referee to call a halt to the contest.

Mamta Raut mirrored this success, facing Sonam from Sikkim, Raut also clinched a Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) win in the opening round. In the boys’ category, Veer Rana defeated Prashant (Assam) with a decisive 4:1 victory. Laxmi Lamani continued the streak, outmaneuvering Kerala’s Akshaya Keerthi with a clear points victory (0:5).
