Ireland rugby star Robbie Henshaw ties the knot in 5-star Cashel Palace Hotel














Ireland rugby star Robbie Henshaw has married the love of his life, Sophie Marren, in a sumptuous wedding at the Cashel Palace Hotel in Tipperary.
Robbie and Sophie tied the knot on Thursday surrounded by family, friends, and a host of Robbie’s Ireland rugby team mates. Gates to the Catholic Church on Friar Street were closed to secure privacy for the wedding ceremony.

Fresh from beating Scotland in the Six Nations on Saturday 17-13, Robbie is now celebrating in Tipperary’s City of the Kings, with the wedding entourage booked into the 5-star Cashel Palace and Bailey’s Hotel, both on Main Street.

Three days of music and celebrations are under way. Robbie hails from a musical family, and it’s understood a big hooley is planned for Foley’s Bar on Friday night. Robbie and Sophie have been together since 2014, and met while they were both studying at UCD.

Cashel enjoys a strong rugby tradition: it is the home town of Dennis Leamy, and nearby Rockwell College has fostered many junior and senior players to success, securing victory in the Munster Schools Senior Cup 26 times and the Munster Schools Junior Cup 20 times.
