Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Friday's session.

Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 4.64%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 2.05%), Bohra Industries Ltd.(up 1.62%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.18%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.09%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.74%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 0.70%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.68%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 0.67%) and Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.52%) stood among the top gainers.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 2.95%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 1.59%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(down 0.89%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 0.75%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(down 0.27%), Sikko Industries Ltd.(down 0.21%) and Coromandel International Ltd.(down 0.06%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 84.8 points up at 22096.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 190.75 points at 72831.94.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 3.64%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.61%), UPL Ltd.(up 3.18%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 3.13%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.8%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.26%), Cipla Ltd.(up 2.25%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.23%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 2.19%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.89%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 3.01%), Infosys Ltd.(down 2.95%), Wipro Ltd.(down 2.67%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 2.38%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.57%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.57%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.99%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.98%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.94%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.23%) closed in the red.
