WINSTED — Four veterans recently graduated from Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities’ Project Heal program with their successor or second service dogs.
All of the veterans saw combat duty in Iraq or Afghanistan and have physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder. Their service dogs will help them continue to live fuller lives as they did with the assistance and support they received from their first ECAD service dogs.
Lu Picard, ECAD co-founder and director of programs, thanked the veterans for the honor they showed by returning to ECAD for their second dogs.
