The special court of Chaibasa had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against rahul gandhi on february 27 for not appearing in the hearing of the defamation case.

rahul gandhi had challenged this order in the jharkhand High Court. While hearing this case, the high court has stayed the execution of non-bailable arrest warrant for 30 days. rahul gandhi had allegedly made derogatory remarks about Union minister amit shah during a rally in Chaibasa ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. On this, Pratap Kumar, a resident of Chaibasa, had filed a case against rahul gandhi for his remarks.

What was said in the petition?

Pratap Kumar, in his petition filed before the magistrate's court in Chaibasa, said that rahul Gandhi's statements were derogatory and were deliberately made to tarnish the image of amit Shah. Now bjp filed a complaint with the election commission on wednesday against rahul gandhi for giving the statement 'fight against power' in a recent rally in Mumbai. Also requested to take strict action against the congress leader and issue instructions to register an FIR against him.

In a memorandum submitted to the commission, bjp leaders hardeep singh puri and Om Pathak alleged that rahul Gandhi's remarks on 'fight against power' were an attempt to 'insult the religious values associated with power and appease some religious communities' between religions. It has been done with the intention of creating hatred.
