The first round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament gets underway Thursday. Four South Bay basketball products are in the field with their respective teams.
Here is the list, which includes two former Daily Breeze Player of the Years (Tyler Rollison and Marcus Adams Jr.):
Jason Hart Jr., Long Beach St., Redshirt Freshman, Guard – St. Bernard
Hart played in 23 games this season for the 49ers. Played in a season-high 21 minutes, March 7 against UC Santa Barbara. The 49ers open the tournament Thursday against Arizona.
Tyler Rollison, Nevada, Freshman, Guard – St. Bernard
Rollison has played in 32 games this season, averaging 12.9 minutes a game and 4 points per game. Nevada faces Dayton in Thursday’s first round.
Reese Waters, San Diego St., Jr., Guard – St. Bernard
Waters has played in 34 games for the Aztecs. He’s shooting 91.4 percent from the free-throw line and is averaging 10.1 points a game. SDSU will face UAB Friday.
Marcus Adams Jr., BYU, Freshman, Forward – Narbonne
Adams played in one game for the Cougars. BYU faces Duquesne in Thursday’s first round.
