Famed photographer and filmmaker Pete McBride returned home on Wednesday to give a presentation on his latest work inside Aspen’s Wheeler Opera House. Part of the Changemaker Speaker Series, McBride was joined on stage by adventure writer Kevin Fedarko to discuss their 750-mile journey by foot through the length of the Grand Canyon — not rim-to-rim — while on assignment for National Geographic.

Fedarko, author of “The Emerald Mile,” chronicled the Grand Canyon journey in his latest book, “A Walk in the Park,” set to be released May 28. An Aspen native, McBride has spent the past couple of decades documenting the Colorado River, publishing numerous works on the subject. He frequently travels the world for National Geographic.
