Outdoorsy, the premier marketplace for outdoor travel and accommodations, has unveiled Outdoorsy Hill Country, a luxurious new glamping getaway set to open just in time for the April Total Solar Eclipse. This exceptional retreat is situated in a distinctive spot within the rapidly expanding travel market of the U.S., specifically in the Texas Hill Country and close to Fredericksburg, Texas — both of which have been recognized by CNN and The Washington Post in their 2024 global “must visit” lists.
“Our vision was to create an iconic destination that fuses rustic charm, immersive outdoor experiences, and refined Hill Country hospitality for thoughtful travelers from Texas and beyond,” said Outdoorsy CEO Jeff Cavins. “With 22 all-season canvas glamping tents, a cafe and bar, a country store, an events lodge, and meandering trails across the 32-acre property, Outdoorsy Hill Country is a memorable slowcation destination that blends contemporary comforts with the allure of Texas’ natural beauty.”
A SANCTUARY OF NATURAL WONDERS
Nestled among undulating landscapes, the sanctuary provides gateways to iconic spring bluebonnet vistas and boundless panoramas of awe-inspiring Texas dawns and dusks. Central to the grounds is a generous spring-fed pond, ideal for summer paddleboarding adventures and observing nature. The property’s sprawling live oaks offer serene spots for enjoying live music and sipping drinks at the outdoor bar.
Blending advanced safari tents with native Texas limestone, Outdoorsy Hill Country fosters a harmonious balance with its surroundings. Each tent boasts outdoor features like expansive decks and fire pits, perfect for evening socializing with cocktails and al fresco meals.
“We fell in love with the Hill Country when we built a glamping tent for ourselves,” said Outdoorsy Co-founder and CMO Jen Young. “We couldn’t be more delighted to share this space with guests who are seeking out the restoration that time in nature provides.”
The luxury tents, accommodating two to four guests, are strategically placed to ensure privacy while harmonizing with the landscape. Inside, you’ll find king-size or twin beds complete with fine linens, plush robes, and contemporary decor. Climate control ensures comfort in all seasons, and private bathrooms come equipped with rain showers and upscale amenities from San Saba Soap Company. A kitchenette and mini-bar, stocked with local delights like Garrison Brothers bourbon, offer the means for grilling or cocktail crafting.
The Café presents a seasonal selection of light fare using local ingredients, enjoyed on a deck overlooking Lyndon B. Johnson State Park. Mornings feature Merit coffee, juices, smoothies, and breakfast items, while evenings promise craft cocktails and local wines from Crown Hill Winery and Pedernales Cellars, alongside beers from Real Ale Brewing.
A country store on site provides everything needed for a comfortable stay, including pop-up shopping experiences from local artisans.
CONNECT AND CELEBRATE IN THE HILL COUNTRY
The spacious venue at Outdoorsy Hill Country is ideal for hosting weddings, corporate retreats, and cultural gatherings. Overlooking the pond and accommodating up to 250 guests, the venue features a rustic wooden interior, modern AV capabilities, WiFi, and large doors opening to a vast deck.
EMBRACE THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Outdoorsy Hill Country serves as a portal to myriad outdoor pursuits such as horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, climbing, and boutique shopping. Proximity to celebrated wineries, gourmet dining, and historic music venues like Luckenbach and Albert underscores the region’s rich musical legacy.
Guests are invited to explore the best of Hill Country through curated experiences, including wine tours on the Texas Wine Trail, guided hikes in nearby state parks, and historical explorations in Fredericksburg.
