The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club is home to two new Junior Nationals champions following the 2024 Freestyle Moguls Junior Nationals competition March 12-17 at Utah Olympic Park in Utah.

Athletes had to navigate challenging, icy-turned-slushy conditions on the steep mogul courses, but managed to put up great results — including several podiums across multiple age groups.

U19 skier Jackson True dominated the week, becoming champion in the men’s moguls, dual moguls, aerials and combined events. Reise Wilson, a U17 skier, took home the girls national championship in moguls. Wilson also placed a third-place finish in dual moguls.

Other podium finishers include Liam Siefken, who was second in the boys U17 moguls races. Izzy Powell, U19 woman, had a great weekend, earning the third-place podium for dual moguls, as well as taking fourth in moguls, eighth in aerials and second in the combined event.

Eight from Steamboat are now competing at the 2024 U.S. National Championships in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire through March 24.

Competing on behalf of the SSWSC is Xander Tatar-Brown, True, Siefken and Shane Mariano for the boys. Claire Boyle, Abrianna Gordon, Reise Wilson and Anabel Ayad are racing for the girls. Mia Satkiewicz also qualified, but will not attend following an injury she suffered at Junior Nationals. Gigi Lobeck also qualified but declined her spot this year.

U17 moguls skier Reise Wilson became 2024 Moguls Junior Nationals Champion at Utah Olympic Park.
