Kanchi Singh on making OTT debut with film '3rd October' and her idea of happiness

Kanchi Singh, who is making her OTT debut with 3rd October, and returns to acting after seven years with the film, says it’s the simple joys of life that give her happiness.

Kanchi Singh known for her roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Aur Pyar Ho Gaya. 3rd October, directed by Vineet Jha, will also feature actors Hiten Tejwani and Sneha Ullal, among others, and will release on March 29.

Speaking on the occasion of International Day of Happiness, which is observed on March 20, she said, “My idea of happiness is to live your life to the fullest. Doing what makes you feel each and every emotion is something I believe in. Spending time with my parents makes me the happiest, and also with my pet rabbit, who is my little bundle of joy, makes me happy.”

“Every moment spent with my family is the best moment of my life because I love them. I don’t know what I would have done without them,” she added.

So what gives you instant happiness? “Listening to music gives me instant happiness. I think it gives a different peace of mind when I am sad or upset, so music is something that is therapeutic for me,” she said.

For her, happiness is career dependent because it gives an individual independence and confidence. She said, “I think when you are independent, you have that confidence and bandwidth in you that you can achieve everything you want, and that brings a sense of positivity in you,that confidence in you, that positive attitude in you, which ultimately brings happiness, so a career is very important.”

She also stressed that happiness is indeed connected with personal and professional balance. She added, “Every aspect of life should be balanced and in proportion. If something is in excess, life starts to shake and everything gets scattered, so balance is important. I strike a balance between the two by not mixing them, like when I am working, it’s totally professional, and when I am with my loved ones, friends, and family, I am a different person. Setting priorities is very important to balance both the professional and personal lives, which I try to do.”

A message to your fans and followers? “I would love to tell my followers and fans that whatever the situation is, always keep patience and always remember that there is always a bright day after a dark, dull night, so keep smiling and be happy! And always respect your parents. Try to keep them happy as much as you can because I feel if your parents are happy, happiness will ultimately find its way to you,” Kanchi concluded.
