Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.58%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.

Shares of Swan Energy Ltd.(up 3.05 per cent), Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Oberoi Realty Ltd.(up 0.98 per cent) and Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 0.01 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 1.88 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 1.58 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.58 per cent down at 829.2.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 238.25 points at 21817.45, while the BSE Sensex stood down 736.37 points at 72012.05.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 ended in the green, while 40 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Indian Oil Corp. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Nagreeka Export, D P Abhushan, The Anup Engg, Cubex Tubings and Hercules Hoists hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akshar Spintex, Future Supply Chain, Vaxtex Cotfab, Mukka Proteins and Sintex Plastics Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
