ORLANDO, Fla. — Early voting wrapped up this weekend, but thousands of Central Floridians still expected to show up at polling places Tuesday.
The ballots will not just include that presidential race, but also, municipal elections in Orange and Flagler counties.
Florida is one of five states that will be holding its presidential preference primary election on Tuesday. A lot has led up to this moment. Early voting in Orange County for the presidential preference primary just wrapped up a few days ago.
According to the supervisor of elections office:
- More than 36,000 voters participated in early voting for the presidential preference primary (that was specifically held for registered republican voters).
- About 15,000 of those votes were cast in person.
- And another 21,000 plus were vote-by-mail ballots.
And in Flagler County, elections official reporting about an 18% turnout so far, with more the 8,000 early votes and mail-in ballots.
Now on top of the presidential preference primary happening, there are several municipal races, including city council or commission races in Apopka, Eatonville, Ocoee, Winter Garden and Winter Park.
In addition, there are mayoral races in Winter Park and Oakland, as well as charter questions in Eatonville, Edgewood, Maitland and Ocoee.
