Proud Ace AC runner Lorcan counts down to first appearance for the boys in green
Lorcan Forde Dunne can look forward to running for Ireland in the SIAB Cross-Country Championship.
Ace AC have had an abundance of young athletes gain international recognition over the past few years and their talented runner Lorcan Forde Dunne is the latest in a long list!
On this coming Saturday, fresh from his recent championship best performance at the Leinster Indoor Championships, Lorcan will perform for the first time in a green jersey, representing Ireland Schools.
The St Mary’s DS Drogheda student’s debut international will be on home soil in the Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin in the prestigious 2024 Cross-Country SIABs.
Making the day even more special will be the fact that two more Ace AC athletes, Sholah Lawrence (Our Lady’s College Greenhills) and Eimear Cooney (Sacred Heart School), will also compete for Ireland Schools on the day.
Sholah is a former National Schools champion and has represented her country once previously, while Eimear will be representing her country for the fifth time and is a regular on National Schools Championship podiums.
All three Ace athletes will spend the week ahead preparing with their coaches, among them Liam Cooney, Paddy Clarke, John Walsh and Cecil O’Donnell, before moving down to stay in Dublin with their international teammates on Friday on the eve of the championships.
