Give us an overview of Routematic’s journey and how it has evolved over the years?

Our (Routematic) journey has been marked by a commitment to innovation and customer experience. Right from our inception in 2013, we’ve been harnessing cutting-edge technology, integrating AI and data analytics to optimize employee transportation.

From starting off as a transport software solution provider to also managing end-to-end employee transportation service, our evolution includes strategic expansion, forging key partnerships, and a steadfast focus on sustainability. We continue to shape the future of employee transportation with a commitment to excellence and environmental responsibility.

Can you offer a glimpse into Routematic’s future business development initiatives and growth plans? Any plans for growth and expansion to new markets or regions? 

Currently at Routematic, we are focused on international expansion and on the manufacturing sector. Being a leading fleet service company, Routematic’s commitment to driving business development initiatives and fuelling future growth is underscored by a glimpse into the company’s future plans that involves embracing visionary leadership, forging strategic partnerships, leveraging technological advancements, and placing a high priority on customer centricity. 

In what ways does Routematic leverage technology and innovation to enhance its business operations and services?

By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI and real-time data analytics, Routematic continuously invests in technological advancements to enhance its transportation management platform. These technological innovations attract clients seeking innovative solutions to their transportation needs, driving business growth.

What role does customer experience play in the overall success and sustainability of businesses in this industry? How is Routematic adjusting its strategies to meet evolving customer expectations and provide a secure and seamless commuting experience. 

At Routematic we firmly believe that higher customer loyalty and retention are the results of positive customer experiences. Being a leading fleet service company, Routematic depends upon enduring connections with its customers as positive customer experiences increase the likelihood that clients will stick with the company and even refer others to it.

As such, client feedback is central to the evolution of our products and our solutions, which have been developed based on the inputs of our clients. Over 200 new features are released across 4-6 quarterly enhancement cycles in a year and all these new features are developed based on the inputs provided by our clients.

How is Routematic preparing to stay ahead of the curve and remain a leader in the evolving mobility industry landscape?

Today, the mobility sector consists mainly of fragmented, unorganized players that are operating Corporate Fleet. With investor interest increasing in the mobility industry, it is likely that the industry will consolidate around companies that are heavily invested in Technology. Therefore, it is likely that a technology-first fleet company such as Routematic will benefit from the consolidation of the industry. 

How is the mobility industry responding to the growing demand for environmentally sustainable practices? Can you highlight Routematic’s efforts and initiatives in promoting sustainability within the industry?

Corporate Fleet is mostly an intra-city service, with clear visibility of each vehicle route plan for the day. This model is ideal for an EV operator, who normally struggles with range anxiety.

Routematic has already invested over 200+ EVs in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. We are also planning to increase our presence in other cities shortly. We envisage to convert over 75% of our existing fleet of 1500 cabs to EVs, within 2024.

From your perspective, what are the potential trends that will shape the corporate transportation industry in the coming years?

In the coming years, the corporate transportation sector will witness significant changes. Electric Vehicles (EVs) are expected to dominate, with at least 60% of corporate fleets making the shift, driven by sustainability and government initiatives.

Globally, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) gains traction, and in India, companies will likely turn to MaaS providers for integrated transportation solutions, optimizing costs and efficiency. Shared mobility solutions, like shuttle services, will become popular in urban areas, providing cost-effective transportation for corporate employees.

Data-driven decision-making will be crucial for optimizing routes, improving service quality, and reducing costs. Evolving government regulations on emissions, safety, and taxation will impact corporate transportation, requiring companies to stay compliant.

Any upcoming projects or initiatives Routematic has in the pipeline, and how will they contribute to the company’s growth and success?

Apart from expansion of our SaaS and MaaS models, Routematic has already launched a Shared Mobility solution for business parks in Bengaluru called COCO Rides. COCO Rides is a shuttle and taxi pool service for employees working in a common business park.

Employees who live in close by localities can now avail a safe and predictable ride at rates significantly lower than other popular commercial cab operators. COCO Rides already live in two business parks. We are also planning to launch it in Pune and Hyderabad shortly.
