Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.88% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:25AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Punjab National Bank(up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.5 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.24 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 1.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.88 per cent at 46184.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 58.1 points at 21965.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 185.87 points at 72457.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, Tata Steel and SJVN were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Reliance Infra, Linde India, Somi Conveyor, Cubex Tubings and Rolta India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Sanco Industries, Stampede Cap(DVR), Radaan Media and Lakshmi Precis hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
