Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.98% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge Ltd.(down 6.15 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 3.24 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.98 per cent at 37133.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 25.05 points at 21998.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 46.53 points at 72596.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, Tata Steel and SJVN were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Reliance Infra, Linde India, Somi Conveyor, Cubex Tubings and Rolta India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Vaxtex Cotfab, Omkar Speciality, Stampede Cap(DVR)and Radaan Media hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
