Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:05AM

Torrent Power Ltd.(up 5.37%), Karma Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Reliance Power Ltd.(up 4.98%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 4.92%), India Power Corporation Ltd.(up 2.84%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(up 2.72%), SJVN Ltd.(up 1.81%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 1.46%) and NHPC Ltd.(up 0.85%) were among the top gainers.

Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 4.03%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(down 3.70%), Indowind Energy Ltd.(down 3.43%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(down 3.39%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(down 3.08%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 3.05%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 2.93%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 2.74%), Inox Wind Ltd.(down 2.72%) and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(down 2.63%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 25.2 points down at 21998.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 48.61 points at 72594.82 at around 11:05AM.

Tata Steel Ltd.(up 3.85%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.78%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.79%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.29%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.95%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.86%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.78%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.74%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.64%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 0.56%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 2.3%), UPL Ltd.(down 2.23%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.1%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.56%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.45%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.32%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.14%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.03%), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.01%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.95%) were trading in the red.
