You've heard of TV and music streaming subscriptions, but how about one for high-performance SSD memory solutions for servers? That's apparently what Samsung is going to announce tomorrow at NVIDIA's GTC 2024 conference in San Jose, California.

Samsung is reportedly going to introduce several new memory solutions for AI and machine learning applications at the event, including its newly developed 12-layer High Bandwidth Memory 3E, and a new storage subscription.

SSD subscription service makes access to advanced memory solutions cheaper

Samsung has its sights firmly on the enterprise SSD market and wants to further increase its dominance with the launch of a petabyte-level SSD solution called PBSSD. It will be accompanied by a new subscription service available for US customers in Q2 2024 to provide ultra-high-capacity data solutions at a fraction of the cost.

This service will enable enterprise customers to use Samsung's petabyte SSD solutions by paying a subscription fee, instead of having to purchase these expensive storage devices outright. Customers will be able to scale up quickly as they don't need to build additional infrastructure. Samsung will also support them with additional services that include upgrades, storage management, and security.

Samsung will be demonstrating at GTC 2024 how its high-capacity SSD subscription service will enable AI and ML companies to improve data analysis, simplify data management, and more economically expand storage to meet their needs.

Given NVIDIA's prominence in the AI space, GTC has emerged as an important industry event for companies and professionals working in the AI and ML space. As a leading memory supplier, it's the right fit for Samsung to further highlight the capabilities of its high-performance memory solutions.
