Partly cloudy St. Patrick's Day 🍀 with slight chance of afternoon showers
Things are looking peaceful weather-wise this weekend. Here's hoping some Irish luck holds out for St. Patrick's Day itself.
Saturday night will be comfortably cool with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Lows will be in the low 50s.
Sunday for St. Patrick's Day it will be partly to mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance (20-30%) of afternoon and evening showers.
Don't worry, it won't be a washout! Most of the day looks dry. Highs will climb to a pleasant 71 degrees.

- Sunday: Happy St. Patrick's Day. Rain is looking less likely. High of 73.

St. Patrick's Day weekend forecast: Cloudy & warm with chance for rain
The weekend features plenty of clouds and temperatures in the 70s.
Sunday will be mostly dry all day with a cool front crossing into central North Carolina in the evening.
There's a 30% chance of rain returning Sunday afternoon and evening, based on high-resolution models and the European forecast.
Pollen count on the rise
The pollen count may irritate your allergies this weekend. On Saturday, the main threat will be tree pollen.
The pollen forecast doesn't look much better over the next few days. The tree pollen count will be "very high" Sunday and Monday. So make sure you've got your allergy meds on hand.
"The next pollen-washing rain looks like it could be next Friday," said WRAL Meteorologist Mike Maze.
Spring begins with cooler temperatures
Don't put your jacket away just yet. High temperatures next week will only reach the mid 50s.
We'll see a cool down again next week, with highs in the 50s once again. The mornings, especially Monday and Tuesday, could be chilly with the chance for frost.

Eyes on the sky for 2024 total solar eclipse
April 8 is the date of the next total solar eclipse for North America. We won't see a total eclipse in North Carolina, but lots of people will travel to take it in! Ohio will be the closest spot to drive to from Raleigh for the path of totality.
