Meanwhile the chief minister has also asked the police officers to coordinate with all key stakeholders, including political parties, to conduct the lok sabha elections peacefully. He said that there should be a feeling of security among the political parties so that they can participate enthusiastically in these elections. The Constitution of india provides equal opportunity to all political parties to participate in elections and this should be followed in every way.

Giving information, bhagwant mann said that many companies of paramilitary forces will soon reach the state to assist the punjab Police. He said that these forces are not familiar with the traditions, beliefs and customs of the state and hence punjab police should take the lead to ensure that the religious sentiments of the people are not hurt. The punjab chief minister said that it should be given more importance as the sentiments of the people are paramount to maintain law and order in the state. He also said that the process of collecting licensed weapons across the state should also be expedited and completed before the elections.
