Yesterday, Samsung released the March 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked and carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S22 series smartphones in the US. Now, the company has started rolling out the security update to the international variants of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which carry model numbers SM-S901B, SM-S906B, and SM-S908B respectively.
The new software update changes the firmware version to S901BXXS7DXBD. As I mentioned earlier, it brings the March 2024 security patch, and that’s the only change it offers. The latest security update fixes many security issues. At the moment, Samsung has made the update available in Austria, Caucasus Countries, Croatia, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the UK.
I expect the company to roll out the update in other regions in phases in the next few days. If you live in the regions I mentioned above, your Galaxy S22 might have already sent you a notification about the availability of the new firmware. So, check the notification drawer once. If it hasn’t, you have to check for the update manually. You can do that by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
One UI 6.1 is on the way for Galaxy S22
The Galaxy S22 series smartphones are eligible to get One UI 6.1 as well as Android 15-based One UI 7.0. Samsung is expected to roll out One UI 6.1 to these devices in the next few weeks or at the worst, in the next couple of months. One UI 6.1 brings many new features, which you can check in the video below. However, the AI features that you see in it won’t be coming to the Galaxy S22 lineup.
