WOODBURY – Barbara J. Dibble, age 95, of Woodbury, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald “Dib” Dibble Sr.
Barbara was born on Sept. 15, 1928, in South Bend, Ind., and was the daughter of Frederick Stine and Della Stine Kaufman. Barbara loved spending time on Cape Cod and spent much of the last 25 years traveling to her summer home where she would relax and enjoy a good game of cards.
She was an avid reader, and it was not uncommon for her to pick up a good mystery and have it done in a matter of days. She loved a good party, whether it be a backyard picnic or family wedding. You could easily spot her in a crowd because she was always wearing her trademark blue butterfly sunglasses.
Barbara dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was a wonderful mother. We are thankful for the many sacrifices she made for her family and the many happy years she shared with us.
Barbara leaves behind her children, Steve Dibble and wife Jan, Don Dibble Jr. and wife Randi, Karen Dibble-Flaherty and husband James, with whom she made her home for the past 18 years, Bob Dibble and wife Kim, Susan Clemente and husband Robert; as well as 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her golden retriever, Gemma, who stayed by her side in her final days.
The family wishes to thank Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice Care and her personal caregivers, Ame and Shawna, for their wonderful care and attention.
