The England captain's afternoon then took a turn as he clashed with the goalpost while trying to pounce on Alphonso Davies' effort rebounding off the crossbar.

He received medical attention before being substituted for Eric Choupo-Moting, with his side going on to win 5-2 in his absence.

When asked about his injury by a reporter in the tunnel, Kane replied: "A little bit painful."

He was pictured walking with his suitcase in tow.

When asked about the striker after the game, Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed he's yet to learn the extent of the injury scare.

"He collided with the post and twisted his ankle a bit - he had his ankle iced," he said.

"There's still no diagnosis, we have to wait. I hope it's nothing bad."

Bayern director Christoph Freund also added: "We hope it's not that bad. It was a precautionary measure that he went out.
